Family Float Fest!

Date: Sunday, September 18th
Time: 10 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

It’s time for a field trip, Steele Creek! Join us on Sunday, September 18th for an offsite tubing trip. We will be taking care of transportation by charter bussing residents over to Texas Tubes on the Comal River in New Braunfels, TX and covering the cost of tube rentals!

This trip includes transportation to/from Texas Tubes, one tube rental per resident, one float trip, and one shuttle back to Texas Tubes after the float. If you choose to attend this offsite tubing trip and float the river, you do so at your own risk.

There are only 55 spots available for this event! This event is limited to Steele Creek residents only. Spots will be reserved for household residents or a solitary household resident with +1.

Texas Tubes’ minimum age requirement is 4 years old. Nobody under the age of 4 will be allowed. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times throughout the duration of the trip.

Schedule:
10:00 A.M. - Meet at the model home for check-in and waiver signing
10:30 A.M. - Depart Steele Creek model home parking lot
11:00 A.M. (approximately) - Arrive at Texas Tubes
11:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M. - Float
The float is approx. 3 - 3 ½ hours, but could take as long as 4 hours depending on river levels.
After completing the float and exiting the river, take the complimentary shuttle back to Texas Tubes and check in with your Lifestyle Director.
3:30 P.M. - Gather at Texas Tubes
4:00 P.M. - Depart Texas Tubes
4:30 P.M. (approximately) - Arrive back at Steele Creek

Tube Chute:
This float includes the famous “Tube Chute.” The Tube Chute rapids is the most common spot where people flip out of their tubes. We recommend children & weak swimmers avoid the Tube Chute and walk around it!

If you wish to avoid the tube chute and instead walk around it, there will be a set of stairs on the right side of the river with a handrail where you can get out of the river before entering the chute. The sign reads: CAUTION: TUBE CHUTE AHEAD, WEAK SWIMMERS EXIT NOW, with a RED ARROW pointing toward the EXIT STAIRS. You can reenter the river just below the tube chute to continue your float.

Important Things to Note:
  • ALL residents attending must sign a waiver and release for themselves and their dependents in order to attend.
  • There is a ban on cans and all disposable items on the Comal River.
  • If you are bringing water (which we strongly recommend) - make sure it’s in a non disposable bottle.
  • Food and drinks are legal on the Comal River as long as they are in "Non-Disposable Containers".
  • We will be providing some drinks/snacks before and after the float while on the bus, but you are welcome to bring your own food/drinks in coolers no larger than 30 quarts (this is a City of New Braunfels rule). All coolers are required to have a locking mechanism to be taken on the river.
  • We will NOT be covering the cost of cooler tube rentals. If you wish to rent a cooler tube, you may do so at your own risk/cost at Texas Tubes for $25.
  • No dogs (except service dogs) will be allowed. Texas Tubes is dog friendly.
  • We recommend bringing towels and/or a change of clothes to dry off before getting back on the bus to return to Steele Creek.
  • We strongly encourage attendees to wear life jackets while in the water at all times, regardless of age or swimming ability. Texas Tubes provides complimentary life jackets for all customers upon request, but we strongly recommend bringing your own.
  • We strongly recommend that all "non-swimmers" DO NOT GO Tubing or enter the river for their own safety.
  • There are no lifeguards on duty - you float and swim at your own risk.
  • The Steele Creek Residential Community is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
  • The Steele Creek Residential Community cannot guarantee your or your child(ren)’s, family’s, or residents’ safety while taking part in certain activities with or through the association. Your safety and the safety of your dependents is your responsibility.
